Integrated Product Development for Digital Spine’s “Aufzughelden” – UX/UI-Design of a cloud based IoT solution

Digital Spine is a Berlin-based software company known for its innovations in the field of lift digitalisation and intelligent building management. Through their brand ‘Aufzughelden’ (German for “Elevator Heros”), they offer IoT technology and cloud-based solutions for real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance and data analysis.

Digital Spine had already delivered wireframes for the launch, which we analysed in a UX audit. In the subsequent design phase, we then created new templates to make the analysis and evaluation functionality of the IoT platform as easy as possible for the user. We designed new UI elements based on the existing digital spine branding. Our team worked closely with the client in an integrated product team and in an iterative, agile process.

In 2023, Digital Spine updated its brand and we changed the fonts and colours accordingly for the management platform and translated the brand into UX/UI design.
Since then, we have continuously worked on the concept and design for a variety of additional features in the portal, including document download functionality, date picker, error messages, knowledge base and more. For all of these features, we worked directly with the developers on the client side to deliver clickable prototypes and documentation.

At the end of 2023, we worked on the concept development for the general management portal dashboard, which will be the main point of contact for users when entering the tool. The goal was to show the user the most important data and provide clear guidance on how to navigate between the different ‘apps’ within the portal.

Everything we did was consolidated and documented in a Figma UI kit.
